long time away

So we have been on a long adventure. Our little family has been looking for a new home for almost 8 months. We traveled across the country from Providence Rhode Island to Seattle Washington. We stayed in many Airbnb's throughout the Pacific Northwest: a yurt community, a tiny house, a VW camper (that my 6 year old fell in love with!) a woodland cabin and of course traditional camping in our trusty REI Kingdom 8! For some reason this seems like it would have been a great time to share but I felt a little closed off- I documented so many amazing photos that I will trickle in here and there for future- stay tuned!

The theme of home is ripe for me.

What does home mean to you?

bainbridge island

We have finally arrived! After a rather harrowing flight our souls are finally starting to calm down with the help of mother nature. Kids just tune right into her rhythm with the help of a tire swing, some little friends and a family of deer! Not to mention some gorgeous Hawthorne trees!!

graduation

My sweet "little R" graduated today from preschool! It was a lovely ceremony with music, flowers, tasty snacks and nice company. I can't believe how fast she is growing and how much things are changing in our world. I have to remember to stop and breathe everything in. . .

bon voyage!

We are visiting some special places that we have enjoyed going to over the past few years since we have lived here in Rhode Island. Our favorite secret beach in Little Compton with grandparents and a lovely playground in Jamestown. We are saying goodbye to a place we have called home for seven years! The time really does fly.  It is time for our little family to move on- off on a new adventure but there are many memories to be savored.

leader of the pack

I had a breakfast date with my sweet R this morning. It feels so great when we are in the rhythm of going out one on one together that time is so precious. I can feel the stress when everyone feels like they need more "mommy time" and everyone gets all out of sorts. It only takes an hour at our favorite diner to click right back into place and I am so grateful for those handful of moments when we can find that time.

birthday girl

My sweet bear turned 1 on Sunday, I can't believe it!! She is a sunshine in our lives and we are so happy to have her along for the ride. I had some very visceral memories of her birth this weekend and it is amazing to look at her now so much bigger than the day she was born and I held her in my arms for the first time. I thought for sure she would be my smallest but she weighed in at 9 lbs! We spent the weekend in Vermont with some great friends that recently moved up to the Green mountains. It was a beautiful place to celebrate! I'm looking forward to seeing you grow and change little one but I will always treasure your tiny baby days!
